Willy
Although Willy doesn't belong to the biggest males, he still seems to be very popular with the Pilot Whale ladies.
In addition to the four very distinctive notches, he has a white spot in the middle of his fin.

We are committed to a responsible treatment of the sea. And you can help us! With a symbolic sponsorship you support our research and educational work in Spain. Together we can achieve a lot!
This is how we have experienced Willy since the beginning of our adoption program:
2019
Willy was one of the pilot whales Gorro had bonded with. We had spotted him 6 times. You have to see Willy up close to be able to identify him accurately. Since this year he has a new white spot on his dorsal fin, which makes him easier to recognise.
2020
Unfortunately, we haven't seen much of Willy in this short season.
2021
We were able to observe Willy 6 times this year. The sightings mainly took place in August. He is not swimming with any particular group.
2022
We were only able to clearly identify Willy once this year, on the 16th of May. He was with four other animals.
2023
As Willy can only be clearly identified up close, we have only recorded him once this year. On the 13th of October, he swam in a large group of around 130 animals. Some of the animals came very close to the boat and so we were also able to recognise Willy.
2024
We spotted Willy on the 1st of July in a group of about 55 animals.
