This season’s kick-off was wet and windy. But rain could not hold us back and so we’ve seen various bright “dolphin-shows” during those grey days. An unusual great number of Bottlenose dolphin calves entertained our guests with fancy jumps or even by splashing water towards the boat!

Already on our first trip, Curro and Corte, two badly injured Pilot whales crossed our way. We’re delighted to know that they’ve survived winter, even though both of them are still swimming with open wounds on their dorsal fins. Also Zackzack showed up soon, still followed by her calf.

Many Pilot whale calves approached our boat together with their mothers. Even some newly borns were around, still swimming in a pretty uncontrolled manner.

As already announced in the firmm-meeting in Aarau (Switzerland), Justin got the chance to travel to Tarifa to fulfil his biggest wish – to see whales and dolphins in the wild! He was accompanied by his carer Steffi and the cameraman of mdr (German TV channel), Lars Fischer. They made a long story about Justin’s journey to the whales. We’re glad to inform, that the film will be shown during the 15th firmm-meeting, hold the 23rd of February 2013 in Aarau (Switzerland).
